Work-Based Learning
The WBL courses gives Mississippi high school students the opportunity to earn academic credit for their authentic work experiences.
Students are required to have a job to be eligible for this class. Each week or 2 weeks, they will turn in their work hours. Students are required to do a digital portfolio. Each component of the portfolio will be an assignment. Students earn credit based on the number of hours they work. Students earning 1 credit, may count that credit as the College and Career Readiness Class,
70-139 hours - 1/2 credit
140-209 - 1 credit
210-279 - 1-1/2 credit
280 and above - 2 credits
Mrs. Kim McGaughy is the WBL instructor.
